Sights and Sounds Of Chaminade Winter Concert

Creve Coeur Jazz Bands held court in Ballwin Monday

Music fans with an ear for jazz classics got a taste of exactly that Monday at the in Ballwin, where hosted its 2011 Winter Jazz Concert.

Songs performed included American classics by George Gershwin, swingin' standards by Count Basie and the tune "Satin Doll" written by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. But don't let us try to describe the selections brought to life by the Chaminade Jazz Band for you. See and hear them yourself in our video to the right, plus take a look at our photo gallery from the event.

Chaminade's director of bands John Hahn, noted it was appropriate for the school to be performing on the federal holiday honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as the school's tenets of service, justice and peace were a fit with Dr. King's mission.
