Creve Coeur Parkway Students In Digital Petri Dish

is serving as something of a petri dish for a digital project that could wide in the district if it works: BYOD (Bring Your Own Device).

Students at North and  can bring their own electronic device to class this year.

"BYOD" aims to catch up with modern times.

“I think it was time for us to try it out,” said Parkway School Board president Beth Feldman.

The program, Feldman said, will have to be tested out at the two schools before implementing it district wide.

“The teachers will have to establish the parameters,” Feldman said. “They will need to determine what can the students use, what can they see, what the teachers are going to do with this technology and what are they going to do with students who don’t have the technology.”

Feldman said that in November administrators will examine how the initiative is going and perhaps begin implementing it district-wide after Thanksgiving.  

“Once we get all the kinks ironed out at these two schools we hope we can expand it to the rest,” she said.
