Westminster Christian Academy Officially Moves Out of Creve Coeur This Weekend

Staff will start at the new campus in Town and Country on Tuesday.

 is making the move from Creve Coeur to its new Town and Country campus this weekend.

After months of construction, Westminster's new location is ready for furniture and staff. Westminster is moving locations from 10900 Ladue Road to 800 Maryville Centre Dr. in Town and Country.

The school will make the move to its new 70-acre campus at Highway 40 and Maryville Centre Drive over the weekend. School staff will start work in the new building Tuesday.

More than 900 students will start the 2011-12 school year at the new campus on August 22, according to school officials. In a news release, staff said the new building can accommodate up to 1,200 students in grades. The $50-million campus houses grades 7-12.

According to the news release, the new facility has more than 100 classrooms, three gymnasiums, an indoor eight-lane swimming pool, a 610-seat theatre, 200-seat Black Box theatre, library, 400-seat cafeteria and a broadcast studio. The school's athletic facilities include 12 outdoor tennis courts, a competition track, and a 2,000-seat football stadium with a synthetic turf field and grass fields for soccer, baseball, softball, field hockey and lacrosse. 

A portion of the sod from Busch Stadium's baseball field, which was removed to accommodate the stage for Sunday's was laid on the athletic fields and around the perimeter of the school.

The building also contains close to $3 million of technology infrastructure as part of its “Smart Building” design, school officials said. The St. Louis Business Journal published an article on the school’s implementation of this cutting-edge technology in early June.

The public is invited to tour the new campus on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 1-4 p.m.
