Westminster Graduates Last Class from Creve Coeur Campus

Each of the 146 seniors gave the Head of School, James Marsh, a present as they crossed the stage.

The final class to graduate from has walked across the platform. In August, the school will move from its campus on Ladue Rd, where it's been since 1982, to a new campus in Town and Country, at Highway 40 and Maryville Centre Drive.

One hundred and forty six seniors received diplomas. They shook hands with James Marsh, Head of School, and as per tradition, each gave Marsh a present. This year it was a Tootsie Pop. Marsh gave each senior a coin, inscribed with "Westminster 2011."

Senior class officers, three of the six, told about rejected senior class gift ideas before announcing the gift. A live wildcat (the school mascot), a water wall, Chik-fil-A for a year for everyone and a masseuse were among the rejected ideas. Equipment for the weight room is what they settled on. Class president, Mike Hall, made the announcement.

Blble and history teacher, as well as football coach, Jeremy Scott received the Faculty Award. The speaker was school Spanish teacher, Daniel Legters. He talked about the importance of not giving up.

Head of School, Marsh, commented on the last class to graduate from the Creve Coeur campus. "It's kind of bittersweet, to leave on a night like this, after experiencing all the good things that came on this campus since 1982," he said. "At the same time we celebrate with our kids, we look forward with a lot of excitement for what lies ahead."
