2012 Pattonville Pirates Football Preview

The school hopes for "a new beginning" in a new home starting with Friday's Jamboree.

The Pattonville High School Football season opens a new era in 2012, complete with a new stadium.
After a season of playing on the road during the on campus construction Coach Steve Smith's Pirates will have a home field advantage. Smith answered a few questions about what's ahead via email:

Key Returnees:  Nick Coffey (OLB), Justin Morrow (CB), Darren Davidson (QB), Harley Hughes (OL).
Key Departures: Jeremiah Wilkins (ILB), Jordan Cauldwell (Lineman), Zach Brown (WR).

Q. Will it be weird at all actually having a home field after what your team experienced last year?
A.  It will be a good weird and it will be the most welcomed experience for players and staff.

Q. What are you most looking forward to with the new facilities this season?
A. The look on the kids faces once they actually have a home game.

Q. What has stuck out to you so far, after the offseason program and the start of fall practice?
A. I really like the brotherhood these young men display towards one another. They get after each other hard in practice; itís really a fun group of kids.

Q. Besides the next game, what matchup do you have circled on your schedule?
A. Honestly, we're just excited for the season to begin. We're not circling any games, we're going to live in the moment and absorb a new beginning.
