Governor Jay Nixon and other dignitaries will be in Creve Coeur Friday for what the St. Louis Sports Commission calls "A special sports announcement from with significant impact on the State of Missouri, the St. Louis region, and the area sports and business community." Calls to the Commission, the Governor's office and the club seeking comment were not immediately returned.
Mayor Harold Dielmann is among those dignitaries invited to attend Friday's festivities. He tells Patch that the invitation did not specify what the announcement was, but that he was aware of the PGA rumors.
"It means millions," he said, about the potential economic impact for bringing PGA Tour golf back to the area.
