The draft process for would-be pro athletes is really a glorified meat market. And, just as in the NFL, the process for evaluating who's who leading up to the NBA Draft is going to be televised.
Starting Thursday and stretching into Friday, the top potential draftees, including former standout Bradley Beal, will get to show how well they can navigate a series of agility drills. ESPNU will have the coverage, starting Thursday at 9 a.m. and continuing until Friday, also at 9 a.m.
The network also plans interviews with the top prospects and league executives.
Not much has changed since the NBA Draft lottery was set last week. There have been no trades, although plenty of talk, including what the Cleveland Cavaliers might end up doing. The team, which currently selects fourth overall, has been a common source of speculation about possibly moving up into the top 3.
Beal talked about the pre-draft process with NBA Draft Express in an interview published Tuesday.
