Chaminade Hoops Season Ends In Defeat In State Playoffs

Red Devils fall to Jackson in State Sectionals.

Basketball fans wondering if we'd see a third Chaminade-De Smet Jesuit matchup this season will not get that opportunity.

The Spartans won their sectional matchup against Eureka Wednesday at Maryville University, but the Red Devils (18-9), who went on the road to Cedar Hill, lost in heartbreaking fashion to Jackson (19-10) Wednesday night 60-59.

Chaminade Head Coach Kelvin Lee said prior to the game that he liked his team's chances because of his big men inside, and in this season of freshmen making an impact, Wednesday was Tyler Cook's turn, with 17 points off the bench. He and fellow freshman Jayson Tatum led the Red Devils in scoring.
