Chaminade Retiring Bradley Beal's Jersey Friday

The young NBA talent honed his skills at the Creve Coeur school wearing number 23.

Bradley Beal joined fellow Chaminade alum David Lee in the NBA last season, and after a Friday morning all school assembly in Creve Coeur, will join him in another way: with a retired number hanging in the rafters at the all boys college preparatory school.

Beal, a 2011 Chaminade graduate, was a big part of Kelvin Lee's 2009 club which captured the Missouri state championship. In his senior year, Beal was named Gatorade's National Boys Basketball Player of The Year on the strength of averaging 32.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.7 steals per game.

He opted for the NBA draft after one season at the University of Florida and will be entering his second pro season with Washington Wizards this fall.
