Johnson told Patch late Thursday that new Kansas State Coach Bruce Weber and his assistant Chris Lowery, had been in contact with them in their former respective positions at Illinois and Southern Illinois. Now, on the same staff at K-State, they've targeted Johnson with a scholarship offer.

Johnson spoke to Patch just after he said he talked to new Tulsa Head Coach Danny Manning, who wants to see his transcripts. A visit isn't scheduled yet but could come next week.

Friday could see a number of remaining high school stars around the country make their decisions, including Devonta Pollard, a 6'7" Forward from Mississippi who is said to be considering Missouri, Alabama and Georgetown, among others.

Another holdout has had a more immediate impact on Johnson's future. Tony Parker, a 6'9" Forward from Georgia, is reportedly down to seven finalists, including Memphis, which has also offered Johnson. Johnson told Patch Thursday he wasn't going to wait for Parker to make up his mind before deciding his own future.

The last day to sign is May 16.
