Could PGA Tour Pros Come Back To Creve Coeur?

Bellerive Country Club reportedly in the running for PGA Championship tournaments.

last hosted a PGA Tour event in 2008, and the Creve Coeur course could once again be back in the swing of hosting more in coming years.

  • The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Bellerive's membership voted to move forward with a bid for the 2013 Senior PGA Championship and the 2018 PGA Championship.
  • KSDK-TV is reporting that the club will, in fact, host the events.

A PGA of America spokesperson tells Patch that Senior PGA Championships have been awarded to a Michigan club in 2012 and 2014, and that PGA Championship sites have been selected through 2017. He declined to identify Bellerive as a bidder for the events, or commit to a timeline on when a decision might be reached.

A call seeking comment from Bellerive has not been returned. Brent Shulman, Communications Director for the St. Louis Sports Commission, did confirm to Patch that the the agency has been in touch with the club about the bid, but that a decision is still to be made, possibly in the next couple weeks.
