Update: De Smet Completes Mid-Missouri Swing With Wins

Spartans win two games against Jefferson City area teams.

The De Smet Boys Basketball Spartans hope to return to Mid-Missouri later this spring in search of a state title, but had a chance to get comfortable in the vicinity over the weekend, and came away with a pair of wins in the Central Bank Shootout, hosted by Helias High School.

Saturday, De Smet squared off against the Jefferson City Jays and emerged victorious with a 58-33 win. The Spartans won Friday against host Helias.

Teddy Corwin had 22 points for De Smet. Nolan Berry added 16 points. Reserve Josh Smith had 20 points for Helias, backed by six three-point buckets in defeat. The Spartans move to 12-2 on the season and will face the Jefferson City Jays Saturday.

Next up for De Smet is a Tuesday night matchup against Parkway South before a Wednesday rematch with Chaminade.
