Football Friday: De Smet Deflects Oakville
Spartans' offensive weapons beat back an Oakville Tiger effort.
It was far from a work of art and times looked downight ugly but the are not complainng about the end result.
The hosts overcame sloppy play, turnovers, and a determined Oakville Tigers squad to escape with a hard-earned 35-21 nonconference victory Friday night. Spartans quarterback Connor Harrison led the way with a 55-yard yard touchdown pass to Durron Neal and an 8-yard touchdown run while running back Latif Adams had a pair of rushing touchdowns.
Oakville got a big night from running back Moe LaGrand, who scored two touchdowns, including a 75-yard run in the second quarter.

De Smet improved to 5-1 with the win. Oakville slipped to 3-3.
