High School Football Menu: Week 3

Many teams with ties to Creve Coeur play as early as Thursday because of Yom Kippur observances.

Game Of The Week: De Smet Jesuit at St. John Vianney, Friday 7 p.m.

The Spartans will be hungry to get into the win column for the first time in 2013 after a pair of high scoring games which ended in defeat to Columbia Rock Bridge and Hazelwood Central. This will be a chance for De Smet Jesuit to get a look at the new coach on the block in the Metro Catholic Conference as they see what Paul Day has done since taking over at Vianney. Running back Markel Smith continues to key the attack for the Griffins.

Chaminade at Ft. Zumwalt West 1 p.m. Saturday

Coach Antoine Torrey looks to go 3-0 at the helm for the Red Devils.

Parkway North At Rockwood Summit 7pm Thursday

A battle of young 1-1 teams after Parkway North won on the road in OT agains Oakville last week.

Ladue vs McCluer South Thursday 7 p.m. (Berkley HS)

The Rams look to keep rolling after a 70-0 rout of Parkway West.

Parkway Central Central at Seckman Thursday 7 p.m.

It figures to be a long day for the Jaguars as the visiting Colts have things clicking on offense, averaging 45 points a game, and Division I talent on defense.

Hazelwood East at Pattonville 7 p.m. Friday

This matchup is under consideration for showcasing on KSDK's Friday night coverage.

John Burroughs at Priory 4:30 p.m. Thursday

A lightning strike forced this matchup last year to be played over the course of two days at Burroughs, resulting in a Bombers win. St. Louis Post-Dispatch beat writer Nate Latsch profiled the work being done by the Rebels in 2013, featuring a ton of returning experience on defense.
