The Maryville offense was hot in the first half, shooting 65 percent from the floor to take a 43-24 lead into halftime. In the second frame, the Spartans began to raise their level of play, as the Saints could not maintain its high shooting percentage. MBU’s Erik Hunter went 4-7 from three-point range, finishing with 12 points, to lead the Missouri Baptist offense.

A big source of pride in the game for the Spartans was the free throw shooting. The team shot an incredible 94 percent from the foul stripe in the game, but it was not enough to set-up a second-half comeback.
