NFL: Rams Release Robert Steeples

The De Smet Jesuit graduate who played in college for MU and Memphis will look to hook on with another NFL franchise.

De Smet Jesuit graduate Robert Steeples will apparently need to take his NFL aspirations to another NFL franchise. ESPN reported and Steeples acknowledged that the backup cornerback was released Sunday, as the team works to get to the 75 player roster limit by Tuesday afternoon.

Steeples talked with Patch through the offseason process which began with hopes of getting drafted and soon after turned to finding the best situation as an undrafted free agent who signed with his hometown team.

With only one week left in the NFL's preseason, Steeples could find himself a candidate for a spot on a team's practice squad as the season opens.
