Priory Rebels Defeat Affton

The Rebels are able to take advantage of Cougar penalties.

The game Friday had more than its share of mental mistakes on both sides of the ball, but seemed to find ways to capitalize on 's mistakes. In the end, the Rebels captured their first 2011 win, 27-6.

The Affton Cougars had trouble putting any offense together. Junior quarterback Jonah Boyd generated long drives deep into Priory territory throughout the game, but the momentum was quickly destroyed by penalties (two touchdowns were called back due to holding calls). In the end, these penalties cost Affton a victory. Affton finally broke into the end zone late with only about 50 seconds left.

Priory head coach, Marty Combs said earlier in the week, "We made some great plays last week against Windsor, but we need more consistency." Friday, the Rebels were consistent both on offense and on defense. The team also found a way into the end zone both on the ground and through the air.
