Red Devils Get Past Pirates, Earn Shot In Tournament Finals

Chaminade has won the school's Christmas tournament each year since 2007.

Junior Guard Andy Kleinlein hit for 15 points Thursday night to lead the host Red Devils past 37-31 to end round robin play in the Creve Coeur school's annual Christmas Tournament. Chaminade advances to Friday's championship game at 7 p.m. against John Burroughs.

As the score might indicate, it was a low-scoring affair at the Athletictron. Chaminade led 19-15 at the half, giving up only three Pirate points in the second quarter but only scoring six of its own. The Pirates stayed in the game with timely three-point shooting and a pressing defense. Pattonville was led by Senior Guard Kavon Harvey with 14 points.

John Burroughs advanced by defeating Parkway Central 46-41 in the late game Thursday. Chaminade has claimed the last four Christmas tournaments at the school.
