Sheperd, Colts Look To Keep Rolling Against West

Unbeaten Parkway Central travels to Parkway West for a Friday night tilt with the Longhorns.

Brandon Sheperd scored six touchdowns in the entire 2010 season. This year, the senior wide receiver already has 13 touchdowns and has the Colts off to a 4-0 start.

Sheperd has also exceeded his reception total from a year ago, with 20 as a junior and already 22 catches for 349 yards through four games in 2011. He has six receiving touchdowns, six rushing and also has a kick return for a score as the Colts have been dominant.

Central has averaged 43 points while surrending just 41 total points. Sheperd is also tied with linebacker Eriq Moore for the team lead with 19 tackles.

Trying to figure out a way to slow down Sheperd and the Colts is what Parkway West coach Jeff Duncan has been tasked with this week.

The Longhorns play host to the Colts on Friday night at Longhorns Stadium with kickoff set for 7 p.m. It’s been a struggle for West following its season-opening 47-33 win over University City. Three straight blowout losses to Fayetteville, Rockwood Summit and Seckman have followed.
