Listen Here: District Hoops Tonight: Chaminade vs. Riverview Gardens

The Red Devils tip off against Riverview Gardens tonight at 8 p.m. Patch will also have game coverage as De Smet Jesuit takes on Parkway West and CBC tangles with Parkway Central.

The Chaminade Red Devils (16-8) begin a ride into the postseason with an 8 p.m. tilt against Riverview Gardens (11-15) in the second District semifinal game played Tuesday at Ladue Horton Watkins High School.

Head Coach Kelvin Lee, just named Metro Catholic Conference Coach of the Year, will see if he can take his Freshman-laden team all the way on the road to a state title in Columbia. He'll rely on a backcourt of youth and experience, featuring the first freshman to win MCC Player of the Year honors in Jayson Tatum, along with steady senior shooting guard Andy Kleinlein. Both earned First Team All MCC honors.

The winner plays Friday against the winner of SLUH/Ladue. SLUH (15-2) is coached by one of Lee's former players at St. Louis University in Erwin Claggett. The Jr. Bills split the season series with Chaminade. Ladue (20-5), is led by the heady guard play of Cornell Johnston, although Tatum would provide matchup challenges for the shorter Ram guards.
