Westminster Boys Excel at State Track Meet

The Westminster boys finish third as a team at the Class 3 Track and Field Championships in Jefferson City.

Several area athletes and teams participated in the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Track and Field Championships in Jefferson City last Saturday. Here are some area highlights:

The boys finished third as a team in Class 3 with 50 points.

Westminster senior Daniel Everett won the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:08.43.
Westminster senior David Everett placed second in the 1600 at 4:12.85. As a bonus, the brothers celebrated their birthday on Friday.

Westminster won the 3,200 relay with a time of 7:55.05. The team included junior Peter Duell, Daniel Everett, David Everett and senior Danny Keith.

senior Colin Linkul finished third in the shot put with a throw of 51-06.75.

senior Kevin Abernathy finished eighth in the 1,600 at 4:16.60.

The girls finished fourth in the Class 4 400 relay at 48.67. The team included  sophomore Amber Alexander, senior Desiree White, freshman Diarra Newson and senior Dominique White.

Parkway North sophomore Amber Alexander finished eighth in the high jump at 5-02.

The Parkway North boys finished second in the 400 relay at 42.60. The team included sophomore George Chisolm, sophomore Johnathan Little, junior Donavin Newsom and senior Dorian Hobbs.

De Smet junior Tim Pickel finished eighth in the Class 4 400 at 49.79.

junior Brandon Sheperd placed fourth in the Class 4 300 hurdles at 37.70.
