What Was The Top Sports Story In Creve Coeur For 2012?

We want to know what you think was the biggest sports story over the last year, from high school teams to pros with local ties.

As we wrap a bow on 2012, it is the appropriate time to get a little reflective in our thinking about what's happened over the past 12 months.

We're asking you for the photo of the year, the business story of the year and the newsmaker of the year, so why not ask for what you think is the biggest sports story of the year?

For the record, I'm painting this with a very wide brush. It could be anything from Parkway North basketball's first district basketball title in school history, or the remarkable run to the state finals by the Viking baseball squad.

Maybe you think the exploits of a player who honed their high school talents in our local schools and went on to big things in 2012 deserve merit--like Chaminade graduate Bradley Beal getting drafted by the NBA's Washington Wizards, or Parkway Central alum Max Scherzer, who pitched his Detroit Tigers to the World Series while dealing with the loss of his brother.

Either approach is fine with me. Tell us what you think were the big sports moments in Creve Coeur in 2012.  We'll recap what you told us, and offer our own perspective December 29.
