POST-CONCUSSION SYNDROME IS NO FUN

The more people that we see after having sustained a Concussion from Football, Lacrosse, Hockey, MMA, or a Care Accident, the more that we see how these people have a tough time.  In other words, they are suffering from symptoms like headaches, dizziness, fatigue, depression, balance problems and there is nothing that anyone is doing to help them.
To not watch TV, or play video games, or texting is not correcting the problem.
Even to prescribe a medication for the symptoms does not correct the problem.
Yes, the body tends to heal itself after an injury so there will be some degree of improvement, but there is still a physical injury that has taken place that will remain unless it is properly corrected by an expert specializing in doing just so.
Not only that, but if the injury is not properly corrected and the athlete is told that they can safely go back to contact, they will get re-injured because the original injury was never corrected.  This creates an even more unstable and unsafe situation for the individual and is why we are seeing athletes retiring or quitting or even worse.
There is a correction and there is a happy ending to all of this as well.  I recently wrote letters to Roger Goodell and to Jeff Fisher in trying to explain that there is a physical injury and it must be corrected in order for the safest return to play.
It just makes sense and after we show an athlete their injury, they always say: "How come no one told me about that before?"
Well, I will not be accused of not telling anyone about this vital component that just might save their life, if not only their athletic career.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
