Volunteers serve lunch to Marines, who worked all week on a demonstration garden in St. Louis city.
During Marine Week, a group of Marines donated their time to build a demonstration garden in the Southwest Garden neighborhood in the city of St. Louis. On Friday, the Marines dedicated the garden.
Twelve employees of Isle of Capri, the Community Aces, served lunch and cleaned up for the Marines and the community during the week. Ten of the Isle of Capri employees, which is based in Creve Coeur, had ties to military. Many were related to military members, and a few were former members of the military.
The Brightside St. Louis garden that the Marines worked on is next to the Brightside office at Kingshighway and Vandeventer. Mary Lou Green, executive director of Brightside St. Louis said the motto of the week was Community, Country, Corps.
