2013 Taxes, The Veto Session & A Soccer Rivalry

What are you up to this week in Creve Coeur? Here's a look at some of what's going on around town.

Here's a brief look at some of what's coming up this week in Creve Coeur.

The Creve Coeur City Council meets Monday night at 7 p.m. Among the topics up for discussion: a public hearing on the city's 2013 tax rate, and what would be final passage of plans to locate Crossroads Presbyterian Church on Olive Boulevard and a smoked meats restaurant in the former Culpeppers space.

Tuesday night, CBC hosts De Smet Jesuit in a matchup of traditional soccer powers at 7 p.m. in the CBC Tournament. Later that night, President Obama addresses the nation regarding the situation in Syria and proposed U.S. military action.

Wednesday, the Missouri General Assembly holds its veto session in Jefferson City. Plenty of attention is focused on two bills, one which would nullify federal gun laws in the state, much to the chagrin of some in law enforcement. The other is a piece of legislation which Republicans say is a tax cut, with Governor Nixon and others saying it would hurt education funding.

Thursday, we'll get you set for the weekend with a rundown of activities and events, and Friday, we'll be out and about for a night of high school football.

Now, you tell us: What are you looking forward to this week?
