The Creve Coeur Fire Protection District operates two fire houses, but the district headquarters are located in a separate facility on Olive Boulevard. The department was founded by volunteers in 1944 and became an incorporated fire district after a public vote in 1958. District fire and ambulance service covers the city of Creve Coeur, Maryland Heights, the Village of Westwood and some unincorporated areas. The district is run by an elected three member panel, which meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
