The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center was founded in 1998 with backing from the Danforth Foundation and Monsanto. The non-profit center is home to cutting edge research dedicated to agricultural development and advancement. Areas of research include biofuels, disease- and drought-tolerant crops, and the ability to improve the nutritional value of crops. The center features state of the art auditorium and conference room space, available for rent for private gatherings.
