We have to make people aware that our State is run by public employee Unions and we need court casesRead More like today which ruled that the California Teacher Tenure rules are unconstitutional so that we can change laws and vote people out of office who do not represent the interests of the public who pay the taxes.

Something that is interesting to note is that high school grads are going to four year universitiesRead More and studying subject that isn't marketable. While on the other hand you have people getting vocational training at vocational schools that essentially guarantees them a job out of school that will make them 'x' amount of money. So it isn't that college degrees are worthless, some are. It is also said that sometimes trade school is the right choice! The Aubuchon who should be inducted is the late Don Aubuchon, Class of '74, one of the greatestRead More soccer players in school history.

I attended Chaminade from 1969 through 1975. I was in Meinhardt's Latin and typing classes. I gotRead More hugged and roughed up by him in front of class for not doing my homework as did many others. No sexual abuse. I believe this man's repressed memory is playing tricks on him after all these years. Meinhardt did not have a reputation as a sexual abuser among my classmates during the six years I was at Chaminade. Brother John Woulfe was my religion teacher and guidance counselor. Again no abuse. I was surprised to find that the same law firm, Chackes, Carlson, & Halquist, LLP, represents almost all the St. Louis sex abuse victims that SNAP finds, including the recently announced Chaminade victim. This sort of longstanding financial interest should be pointed out from the start. http://www.cch-law.com/indextest.html

When the absentee landlord of Lambert Field (are there really any direct international flights thereRead More anymore), moved to destroy the heart of Bridgeton, opponents pointed out this day would come. Thousands of homes, homes that were paying taxes towards the schools were bulldozed for nothing. The taxpayers there now, mostly live in St. Charles. While I am sure the schools have lost a lot of tax dollars, they have also lost a lot of kids. This increase is huge and will be onerous for residents in what is left of the district. Perhaps, the airport should pitch in and donate funds annually to atone for its massive blunder that we will be paying for for many years to come.

Maybe they can rent out the new aquatic center and hold a garage sale in the new stadium to sell allRead More of the new laptops for all the students. They could use all of the money to focus on...oh, I don't know - maybe education?
Kathy Czopek October 28, 2013 at 07:27 am
The recent facilities improvements funded by Prop K have nothing to do with the services funded byRead More Prop P. By law they are two separate budgets. And buying laptops for students, instead of replacing aging desktop units for teachers and computer labs, actually saved the district money.
