Max Scherzer Could Pitch The Detroit Tigers To A World Series Berth With Win Over The Yankees

The Parkway Central graduate's Tigers are in a commanding position, up 3-0 in the American League Championship Series.

Update: Major League baseball has postoned Wednesday's Tigers-Yankees game due to weather conditions in Detroit until Thursday afternoon. Max Scherzer will take the mound Wednesday night in Detroit as he looks to guide the Tigers to the franchise's second World Series appearance in since 2006. Detroit took a commanding 3-0 lead in their best of seven game American League Championship Series with a 2-1 home win over the New York Yankees Tuesday night. Scherzer, a Parkway Central graduate who later went on to star at the University of Missouri before being a first round draft choice of the Arizona Diamondbacks, was traded to Detroit in 2009 in a three-team deal that also involved the Yankees.
