Viewfinder: Creve Coeur Days Dinner
Annual event is sponsored by the Creve Coeur Squires and serves as a kickoff to the annual carnival, as well as a way to honor law enforcement.
The annual Creve Coeur Days festivities don't start until Thursday on the campus of Barnes Jewish West County Hospital, but the event got a ceremonial kickoff Tuesday with the annual dinner, sponsored by the Creve Coeur Squires. The event, held at Spazio's in Westport, also served as a way to honor the Creve Coeur-Olivette Chamber of Commerce's Police Officer of the Year, Richard Wiginton. Wiginton was announced as the winner in a ceremony earlier this spring. The Chamber's co-winners of the Firefighter of the Year award were Captain Paramedic Jim Younce, who has been with the Creve Coeur Fire Protection District for six years, and Peg Shannon, a Paramedic-Firefighter, with 13 years of service.
