Bob Ramsey Named Morning Co-Host At 101 ESPN Radio

The sports radio veteran had been in an evening timeslot at the Creve Coeur station.

101 ESPN technically went outside the family in hiring a new co-host to go along with Zach McCrite. The station announced Thursday afternoon that Bob Ramsey, a station veteran who had been in an 6 p.m. timeslot for the past year before his contract had reportedly expired recently, would be paired with McCrite, starting February 11 in the 9 a.m.-11 a.m. period. The station had used a variety of guest co-hosts since former Rams coach Rick Venturi left a full-time perch to tend to a hip replacement and spend more time with family. That group included Ramsey, who talked to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch about the chemistry he had built with McCrite. A Shift In 'The Fast Lane': Afternoon Drive At WXOS Will Sound Different

Update: The station issued a press release late Tuesday afternoon, indicating Ramsey and Stull will be teamed on a program entitled Stully & Rammer, which will also serve as the 101's baseball pregame show in the 2012 season.     Tuesday afternoon, Creve Coeur-based 101 ESPN Radio announced the first change to the station's staffing of the afternoon drive slot since moving to sports talk. Bob Ramsey is moving from The Fast Lane, which airs from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. to the 6 p.m. time slot. Former Cardinal Chris Duncan, most recently a co-host from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. joins Randy Karraker and D'Marco Farr. Brian Stull will remain in the 6 p.m. program.
