For the MICDS hockey team, opening the 2012-2013 season against one of the area's best teams, nearby rival Chaminade, has a certain upside, but also comes with a potentially tremendous downside. On the positive end, the Rams get to gauge exactly where they stand as a club in their first game of the season, in a matchup against a Chaminade team many believe could contend for the Mid-States Hockey Association Challenge Cup title at the end of the year. The problem there though, is if MICDS isn't quite ready for a matchup against Chaminade, then the Rams could be in for a long night against an elite-level club like the Red Devils.
