NBA Draft: Bradley Beal's Big Day

The former Chaminade College Prep star turns 19 today and will learn where his pro basketball career will begin with tonight's draft.

A new chapter in Bradley Beal's basketball career launches Thursday night, sometime not long after 6 p.m. when the 2012 NBA Draft officially gets underway in Newark, New Jersey. The worst-kept secret in the league is that Anthony Davis will go number one overall to the New Orleans Hornets. But Beal, the former Chaminade College Prep standout, could equal De Smet legend Steve Stipanovich as being the ony other St. Louis prep star to be selected as high as number 2 overall. Think about the process leading up to landing your first post-college job. There's a good chance it has nothing in common with what former Creve Coeur prep basketball star Bradley Beal is experiencing. One week after sitting out of drills at the NBA's pre-draft combine, Beal is hitting the road to meet with prospective suitors on their. As The Washington Post and other outlets are reporting, Beal is one of a trio of top talents meeting with the Washington Wizards this weekend. Beal's visit is scheduled for Thursday. Bradley Beal Getting Closer To Learning His Pro Basketball Future

The NBA Draft Lottery will be held Wednesday night, determining the order of the league's top picks.

Former Chaminade all-everything guard Bradley Beal is entering what could be the most important month of his basketball life to date.  Wednesday night, executives from NBA clubs eligible for the league's draft lottery will gather in Secaucus, New Jersey to determine the order of selection heading into next month's draft. The Charlotte Bobcats, by virtue of having the league's worst record, have the best chance at obtaining the top overall pick. Most NBA watchers expect whoever picks first to select Kentucky forward Anthony Davis.
