Saturday brings the latest installment of a football series which began in 1890. Army and Navy will go at it at 2 p.m. central time at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA. The game will be televised by CBS and available on Sirius/XM Radio with the Commander-In-Chief's trophy once again up for grabs. Navy has won the last 10 contests between the teams. Navy is 7-4 and will play in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl against Arizona State while Army has struggled to a 2-9 record this season, which included tough losses to Northern Illinois and Wake Forest. The Westminster boys finish third as a team at the Class 3 Track and Field Championships in Jefferson City.
Several area athletes and teams participated in the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Track and Field Championships in Jefferson City last Saturday. Here are some area highlights: The Westminster Christian Academy boys finished third as a team in Class 3 with 50 points. Westminster senior Daniel Everett won the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:08.43. Westminster senior David Everett placed second in the 1600 at 4:12.85. As a bonus, the brothers celebrated their birthday on Friday. Westminster won the 3,200 relay with a time of 7:55.05.
