A man faces a criminal charge after police said he caused a collision on New Ballas Road Friday while driving drunk. Kenneth S. Klein, of the 1700 block of Schulte Hill Drive in Maryland Heights, was charged Saturday with second-degree assault, driving while intoxicated. Klein caused an accident at 828 New Ballas Road in Creve Coeur by colliding with a woman’s car, police said. The woman bruised her arm and hit her head in the crash. Creve Coeur Police said Klein appeared to be drunk and had watery eyes, slurred speech and smelled like alcohol. MoDOT is reporting a multi-car crash on northbound I-270 near Highway 40. Drivers are reporting the interstate is a parking lot. Avoid the area.
The Missouri Department of Transportation is reporting a multi-car crash on northbound I-270 near Highway 40 and Ladue Road. Creve Coeur crews are on the scene that is very near Town and Country. Drivers are reporting the interstate is a parking lot and lanes are closed. MoDOT is advising drivers to avoid the area the area and find an alternate route.

Michael Vaughn of Maryland Heights was killed after being hit by a car.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed on their website that Michael Vaughn, a 49-year-old from Maryland Heights, was killed after he was struck by a 2009 Pontiac Vibe early March 19. According to the crash report, Vaughn stood in the road's center lane when the car hit him. Mollie Greider, a 24-year-old woman from Creve Coeur, was behind the wheel, according to the report. Lonnings Mortuary Services transported Vaughn's remains to its facilities.

Mollie Greider is lucky to be alive. It is sad when depression leads to suicide and even more tragic when committing suicide puts others at risk. Hopefully Micheal Vaughn is resting in peace now and hopefully Mollie's life can return to a state of normalcy. .   more ›
