The third day of major league baseball's player draft brings news for former Creve Coeur area standouts, including another Westminster graduate, Ben Turner.
A pair of Westminster Christian Academy baseball players who played most or all of their high school careers when the school was located in Creve Coeur received the biggest call of their baseball lives Wednesday when they learned they had been selected on the third day of Major League Baseball's Entry Draft. Ben Turner, a senior catcher at the University of Missouri who starred for the Wildcats at Westminster, was selected by the San Francisco Giants with the 658th pick overall ( Round). Turner's brother Jacob, another former Westminster star, is a pitcher in the Detroit Tigers organization.
