If you're looking for something fun to do, or want to find a way to keep the kids busy during the Winter recess, come on over to the Creve Coeur Ice Arena Tuesday for the city's annual Holidays on Ice program. From 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. admission is free with the donation of a canned food item. A skate rental fee of $2 per pair still applies. The City of Creve Coeur's Golf Course and Ice Arena have been fodder for much discussion in recent years, as city leaders try to get more out of the facilities while also doing more to show residents and consumers that they even exist. The city struck public relations gold earlier this year when country music legend Willie Nelson played a round of golf here while in town earlier this year. But work continues on efforts to make the facilities stand up on their own financially, which would allow the city to stop or reduce the transfer of thousands of dollars annually to support them.
