St. Louis County Man Faces Third DWI Charge

The man received a suspended sentence of four years after pleading guilty in 2011 to a DWI.

A St. Louis County man faces his third DWI charge since 2000 after a Clayton police officer pulled him over at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday on Clayton Road. Police said the man’s blood-alcohol content measured at .243, more than three times the legal limit. Christopher Heil, 45, of the 1400 block of Willowbrooke Drive in unincorporated St. Louis County between Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights, was charged with driving while intoxicated as an aggravated offender, a class C felony. Heil previously pleaded guilty to DWI on June 28, 2011 and Jan. 25, 2000. He also pleaded guilty to driving with excessive blood-alcohol content on March 21, 2001. Police Say DWI Suspect From Creve Coeur Had Handgun Tucked in Waistband

The man was charged Monday for the Nov. 29 incident on South Outer 40 Road at South Spoede.

A Creve Coeur man faces criminal charges for carrying a concealed weapon and driving while intoxicated last year in Frontenac. Daryl E. Mitchell, 55, of the 12500 block of Clark Manor Circle in Creve Coeur, was charged Monday with unlawful use of a weapon and driving while intoxicated as a prior offender. Frontenac Police said Mitchell sitting was in his car with the engine running on South Outer 40 Drive at South Spoede Road on Nov. 29. Officers approached him and saw he appeared to be drunk and subsequently failed sobriety tests, according to a police report. Police: Man Drove Drunk, Caused Crash in Creve Coeur

The accused was driving while his license was suspended, according to Creve Coeur Police.

A man faces a criminal charge after police said he caused a collision on New Ballas Road Friday while driving drunk. Kenneth S. Klein, of the 1700 block of Schulte Hill Drive in Maryland Heights, was charged Saturday with second-degree assault, driving while intoxicated. Klein caused an accident at 828 New Ballas Road in Creve Coeur by colliding with a woman’s car, police said. The woman bruised her arm and hit her head in the crash. Creve Coeur Police said Klein appeared to be drunk and had watery eyes, slurred speech and smelled like alcohol. He failed all sobriety tests and was driving with a suspended license due to nonpayment of child support. Bail was set at $10,000. Creve Coeur Police Looking For Drunk Drivers Friday

A sobriety checkpoint is planned for Friday night.

Creve Coeur Police issued the following bulletin earlier this week: The Creve Coeur Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, August 24, at an undisclosed location along Olive Boulevard between 10:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. This special enforcement is designed to make highways safer and to increase public awareness of the hazards of drinking and driving. By removing intoxicated drivers from the roadways we can decrease the potential for motor vehicle accidents. Normal traffic flow will not be severely interrupted and delays will be minimal. The patience, cooperation,and understanding of all motorists will help make the highways safer for all drivers and passengers.

Patrick McCormick Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter, Assault in Whitfield Teacher's Death

The state recommended a seven-year prison sentence for the charges involving Janet Esrock's death. Sentencing was deferred until Aug. 17.

Patrick J. McCormick pleaded guilty Friday morning to first-degree involuntary manslaughter involving a DWI and second-degree assault. McCormick, of Chesterfield, was legally drunk when he drove his car head-on into another on Wildhorse Creek Road Aug. 26, fatally injuring Janet Esrock, a Whitfield School teacher, and seriously injuring her teenage son, Jon Esrock. Janet Esrock, of Chesterfield, died Sept. 11. About 10 of Esrock’s family and friends gathered in the courtroom to hear the plea and huddled with Key after the decision. Chuck Esrock, Janet’s husband, declined to comment to reporters after the hearing. McCormick answered questions from St. Louis County Circuit Court Judge Thomas Prebil about his understanding of what was taking …

Creve Coeur Woman Charged with Attacking State Trooper

The woman had failed a sobriety test and was being arrested, the Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper said.

A Creve Coeur woman was charged Friday with attacking a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper and driving while intoxicated. The state trooper said in the report that Melissa Sperling, 24, failed a sobriety test March 26 on southbound Interstate 270 south of Page Boulevard. When the trooper started to arrest her, Sperling punched her, bit her and grabbed her hair trying to hit her head on the ground, the trooper said. Sperling’s blood-alcohol content was 0.114, according to the report. Sperling, of the 12300 block of Cross Creek, is charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer, DWI, resisting arrest and failure to drive in a single lane. Bond was set at $30,000. 5/14/12 A resident on Rue De La Banque reported his $800.00 engagement ring missing from his apartment after hosting a Cinco De Mayo party the previous weekend.  5/15/12 Three suspects were arrested and charged for passing bad checks at the M&I Bank branch in Creve Coeur. Detectives arrested a suspect in a 2010 embezzlement case involving more than $500. 5/16/12 Detectives arrested a suspect at the Metro Bus Stop at Mosley Road and Olive Boulevard in connection with a stolen TV from a Creve Coeur residence. A victim reported his unlocked bicycle stolen while inside McDonalds. 5/17/12 Midas Mufflers employees reported an irate customer spit in their faces after the customer learned he could not pay for his car service by check. The following incidents were reported by the Creve Coeur Police Department during the week of December 19, 2011. 12/20/2011 Police responded to TGI Friday's for a larceny report. It appears several subjects left without paying for their food in the amount of $107. 12/22/2011 Police responded to US Bank in regards to a subject passing a forged check. Officers arrested the subject without incident. The subject was released pending a warrant application through the St Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office at a later date. The following information was provided by the Creve Coeur Police Department: August 7: A resident reported her “Kindle” computer was stolen from her house in the 200 Block of Falling Leaves Court. There were no signs of forced entry at the home. August 10: A subject was arrested for Driving While Suspended in the 12000 block of Olive Blvd. The subject was released after posting a municipal bond. August 11: Police responded to the 1000 block of Fernway Lane for a report of a suspicious vehicle. When officers arrived they contacted three subjects who were sleeping in a vehicle.
