WASHINGTON – By now the nation has begun to amass and process the details of Sunday night’s military attack that killed Osama bin Laden. Feelings of joy and catharsis led thousands in Washington, New York and even Greek Town at my alma mater, the University of Missouri to take to the streets and express their excitement. Mollie Greider is lucky to be alive. It is sad when depression leads to suicide and even more tragic when committing suicide puts others at risk. Hopefully Micheal Vaughn is resting in peace now and hopefully Mollie's life can return to a state of normalcy. .   more ›

Police Identify Elderly Man Who Died While Out Walking His Dog Wednesday

Authorities lay out timeline of events.

Creve Coeur Police have identified the elderly man who they found 100 yards away from home after an apparent fall Wednesday night and who later died from his injuries. Authorities say exposure was also a factor in Robert Cohen's death. Cohen left his home in the 11000 block of Lakeshore Drive at approximately 6:20 p.m. Wednesday to walk his dog. The dog returned without Cohen, and police were called at 7:47 p.m. He was located by officers at 8:04 p.m. that night. Police believe he fell down a 12 ft. embankment and was lying on his back in 12 inches of water when he was discovered. An autopsy was performed Thursday. Police said the injuries from the fall and exposure contributed to his death.
