"Town Hall" Meeting In Creve Coeur Touches Tour of Topics

Ward 3 Councilmembers shared feedback about deer, smoking shelters and other topics.

Ward 3 Creve Coeur City Council Members Charlotte D’Alfonso and Bob Hoffman discussed issues of importance to residents and talked of issues that will affect the city in the near future Tuesday night at a town hall meeting at the Creve Coeur Government Center.  The issue of deer in the city was raised by a number of attendees. Hoffman said “there was a lot of passion both ways” on the deer issue, as some residents want the deer removed or killed, some reject killing, and others don’t see them as an issue. Hoffman added that some blame the deer for causing car accidents and the destruction of landscaping while others have sighted hostile deer. Arbor Day Event Paints The Target On Honeysuckle

Creve Coeur encourages residents to grow native vegetation and demonstrates how to remove invasive plants at Arbor Day Extravaganza

Poor weather over the weekend did not put a damper on Creve Coeur's efforts to educate against what could be public enemy #1 when it comes to non-native vegetation in the city: Honeysuckle. Residents of all ages learned the importance of planting native vegetation at an Arbor Day Extravaganza Saturday, aimed at informing the public about the long-term effects of honeysuckle and the importance of planting native vegetation. The event was moved to the community center gymnasium at the Creve Coeur Government Center after originally being scheduled for Malcolm Terrace Park.
