Ladue Reaches Finals of Own District Friday Night

Resounding 67-51 win over SLUH sends Rams to the championship game.

The Ladue Rams, 21-5 this season and hosts of the Class 4, District 2 tournament meet the Chaminade Red Devils in the title game. Before a packed house, the Rams had three starters in double figures. Cornell Johnson led the way with 19 points; Andrew Maddock had 12 and Austin DaGue had 11. Austin Sottile led the Junior Bills with 18; Matt Nester had 12. Westminster Suffers Diamond Defeat Before District Tourney

Wildcats look to recover Saturday in Creve Coeur against Principia after loss to John Burroughs.

John Burroughs won for the third straight time Wednesday and this time they did it against one of the best teams in the area. The Bombers scored five runs in the second inning and defeated Westminster Christian 7-3. "We hit a rough patch there for a while but we are having fun again," said John Burroughs center fielder Davey Holmes, who had a pair of hits and three RBI to pace the win Wednesday. "If we are on our game, we can play with anybody and we showed that today." The teams could well match up again in the Class 3 District 5 Tournament which begins Saturday. Parkway Superintendent Search Nears Finish Line

School officials say they could name the top pick before Christmas.

The Parkway School District's search for a new superintendent is in the proverbial home stretch. If all goes according to schedule, a finalist could be announced by Dec. 16. School board members were scheduled to begin the first round of interviews with candidates last week. Board members and a community committee—including parents, teachers and community leaders—will conduct second-round interviews Dec. 13-15.  Candidates' names remain confidential during this process. Anyone involved in the interview process will sign confidentiality agreements. Some form of public update is on the agenda for the board's regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday night.
