Mark Gorski is not a named party in the suit but is accused of providing "knowingly false" information about the disgraced cyclist.
Before he confessed to Oprah Winfrey earlier this year, Lance Armstrong many times stepped forward himself over the years to deny allegations he used performance enhancing drugs as he won a record seven Tour De France titles. But sometimes others deflected the heat for him, like Mark Gorski did after allegations surfaced following Armstrong's second Tour win in 2000. "I … am absolutely convinced that there were no improprieties," Gorski, then General Manager of the U.S. Postal Service Cycling Team, said in a statement reported by ABC News. Gorski co-founded Tailwind Sports and had oversight of the Postal Service squad until he left in 2003 to join the Schupp Company, an advertising firm founded by Creve Coeur's Mark Schupp. Today Gorski is…

A sexual misconduct charge in the Brentwood Home Depot was bought last week against Chris Frank, a Ladue resident.
Christopher A. Frank, 42, has now been charged by the county prosecutor with sexual misconduct involving a child under age 15, a felony. Patch reported last week that Frank, of the 700 block of Cella Road in Ladue, is suspected of exposing his genitals to a boy in the next stall in the Brentwood Home Depot. “We took this report back in November and I’m not sure when they took it over to the prosecutor’s office, but they just filed on it last week,” said Brentwood Assistant Chief of Police Dan Fitzgerald. Derek Rudman, an attorney with Rudman and Smith, is representing Frank in the allegation. "I can’t go into any certain facts or details of this allegation due to it being a pending case, but I can say that my client adamantly and …

Want to get your officemates or community organization together to help them learn more about Patch? Let us know.
This week, Patch editors had the pleasure of meetng dozens of people from around St. Louis, on top of the many, many more who we interact with on a daily basis as we bring news from around Creve Coeur straight to you. On Tuesday, we were able to hang out with staff at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center as they ate cake and celebrated June birthdays. People signed up for our newsletter and got some Patch gear in the process. On Wednesday, Patch editors from around St. Louis converged on Kirkwood to sponsor an evening with members of the Social Media Club of St. Louis. What great fun to connect with people in person who you "see" so often on Facebook or Twitter. We'd love to do more of the same with you or your organization. We're all …

The St. Louis County Economic Council-backed facility will be able to offer budding biotech businesses affordable lab space and access to mentoring and capital.
The City of Creve Coeur, The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, BRDG Park and others have been slowly picking up steam in efforts to help market the Olive Boulevard-Warson Road area as a hub of biotechnology. Consider the mission joined by a new player which opened its doors to the public Monday afternoon: The Helix Center, a high tech business incubator housing 33 thousand square feet of office and lab space, located at 1100 Corporate Square. The building is the latest incubator launched by the St. Louis County Economic Council. The theme of the day was of innovation supported by collaboration, given the facility's location near the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center and the Bio- Research Development Growth or BRDG Park. In a …

The EPA partnership got a boost locally when Mercy, the Koman Group and the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center agreed to join the "Green Power Challenge".
Creve Coeur is now officially on its way to seeing if it can become the second city in the state of Missouri to be designated as a Green Power Community. City officials and community business leaders formally kicked off a campaign Wednesday at Mercy Hospital St. Louis that was approved by the city council in December. The goal is to be able to offset 3 percent of all energy usage (business, government and residential), or a total of 1,523 megawatt hours by April 2013 with renewable energy sources, either by using solar panels or purchasing Renewable Energy Credits. Clayton became the first community to reach that benchmark in 2011. Mercy Hospital St. Louis, The Koman Group and the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center were saluted …
