Schnucks Releases List of Stores Impacted by Debit, Credit Card Security Breach

Schnuck says approximately 2.4 million credit and debit cards used at 79 stores may have been compromised. Check out the list of stores and the latest on the security breach investigation.

Monday morning, Schnucks released its list of St. Louis area stores that were impacted by the recent security breach. As a result of that breach, Schnucks customers across the St. Louis area have found fraudulent charges on their debit and cards. The Schnucks stores on the list (which can be found in the PDF portion of this article along with a timeline issued by Schnucks) are located in a number of Patches throughout St. Louis, St. Charles and surrounding counties. Schnuck says approximately 2.4 million credit and debit cards used at 79 may have been compromised between December and March. ID Theft Cases Tied To Schnucks: Should You Be Concerned?

The Secret Service is not yet officially involved in an investigation, but has advice for worried Creve Coeur and other St. Louis County consumers.

Authorities from jurisdictions around the St. Louis area are confirming reports in recent days that Schnucks, the Maryland Heights-based grocery chain, may have had its credit card collection system compromised, making consumers vulnerable to identity theft. Creve Coeur Police and the St. Louis County Police are some of the agencies which have taken reports, although news media accounts suggest some ID theft victims shopped in Florissant. Creve Coeur Police Lt. Jon Romas told Patch that the agency has seen an "uptick" in identity theft reports, but cautioned that it is not solely stemming from any single business. West St. Louis County Podiatrist Sentenced For Medicare Fraud

John Dailey, of West St. Louis County, was sentenced to eight months in prison and ordered to pay $60,000 after he pleaded guilty to charges of medicare fraud.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, John M. Dailey, 55, of West St. Louis County, was sentenced to eight months in prison and ordered to pay $60,000 Monday after he pleaded guilty to charges of medicare fraud in September. As previously reported by Patch, Dailey pleaded guilty to three counts of making false statements to the Medicare program about services he never provided to three patients. The following information was also contained in the statement released by the U.S. Attorney's Office Monday. Dr. John M. Dailey was sentenced to 8 months in prison for making false statements to the Medicare program about face-to-face office visits that he did not actually provide to three patients.  The Court also imposed a $60,000 restitution …

St. Lukes Doctor Reportedly Admits Overbilling Medicaid, Medicare

Dr. Wit A. Jamry reportedly pleaded guilty to federal health care fraud this week.

A doctor who reportedly reportedly worked at both Des Peres Hospital and St. Lukes Hospital pleaded guilty to federal health care fraud Wednesday. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Dr. Wit A. Jamry, 62, admitted billing Medicare and Medicaid for services he had not performed. Quoting from the Post story: "Jamry admitted that from 2007 to 2011, he and his practice billed for Jamry's time while he was actually out of town or out of the country. Jamry was away on trips to Atlanta, Poland and Mexico at the time he made 276 false claims worth more than $26,000, court documents claim." According to Dr. Jamry's website the doctor specializes in geriatrics and practiced at St. Luke's Hospital and Des Peres Hospital. Jamry faces 12-18 …

West County Claims Adjuster Pleads Guilty to Fraud

Prosecutors stated Brian Behl of West St. Louis County pleaded guilty to filing false insurance claims to divert more than $400,000 for personal expenses when he worked as a claims adjuster in O'Fallon, MO.

Friday, Brian Michael Behl, 33, of West St. Louis County, 63141, pled guilty to filing false insurance claims to divert more than $400,000 for personal expenses, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.     In a news release, prosecutors said Behl worked for Allianz in O'Fallon, MO, as a claims adjuster at the time of the fraud. He now faces up to 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $1 million, according to prosecutors. The following details of the case were included in the news release Friday. According to court documents, Brian Michael Behl worked for Allianz as a Claims Adjuster in the O’Fallon, Missouri office for about ten years until he was terminated on September 20, 2012. Florissant Man Sentenced In Connection With Creve Coeur Fraud

 A Florissant man was sentenced Thursday to four and a half years in prison on charges of aggravated identity theft and credit card fraud targeting victims around the St. Louis area and Creve Coeur. Jarod Parker, 32, pled guilty in December to one felony charge of aggravated identity theft and another felony charge of access device fraud.  According to the indictment, authorities said for two years, Parker stole credit cards from people in several public places, including Millennium Park and Conway Park in Creve Coeur, as well as events like St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. The indictment said Parker spotted people who were leaving their purses and wallets in cars, and once the propsective victims left, Parker used a screwdriver to open…

St. Louis Business Journal: Delmar Gardens Eyes Proposal For Creve Coeur Project

Report says the company wants to submit a master plan for an $80 million dollar project on 28 acres on Ladue Rd.

Delmar Gardens' President and CEO reportedly has his eyes on what the St. Louis Business Journal calls his company's "Dream Project", which if it comes to fruition could mean an $80 million dollar multi-use campus located on 28 acres off Ladue Rd. The St. Louis Business Journal reported in March 2010 that the company purchased the property, west of Interstate 270, in foreclosure proceedings. Levinson Homes had sought to develop the Belle Maison Home subdivision in Creve Coeur before a bank fraud case sent Ed Levinson to prison, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.  Creve Coeur Patch contacted Delmar Gardens representatives Friday morning for comment and have not had a phone call returned.
