It is republished here with permission: February 2, at the end of this week, is Groundhog Day, one of my favorite days of the year. It gives me real hope and provides a scientific basis for my greatest physical and psychological need this time of year, that winter will soon end . . . or not. If not soon, then at least an ending point is pointed out. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
