The Spartans fell at home against one of the top teams in the state, while the cross-town Red Devils earned slot in Saturday's state soccer championship match.
The busloads of fans who made their way from Blue Springs to Creve Coeur Friday will have a reason for a return trip to St. Louis next weekend, after their team bulldozed their way through the Class 6 state semifinal at De Smet Jesuit with a 42-7 win. State Soccer Semis: Chaminade Advances To Face CBC The Wildcats will face Francis Howell next weekend at the Edward Jones Dome. One week after the Spartans gave up 14 early points to top-ranked CBC, the same thing happened against Blue Springs, but there would be no comeback Friday. Wildcat QB Wylson Lamb connected with receiver Darrius Shepherd on a 47 yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and running back Dalvin Warmack scored the first of three scores as Blue Springs dominated both …

In the new Missouri system, every team has a shot at a state title. Here's when teams with Creve Coeur ties play, starting Thursday.
High school football coaches have been busy cramming about prospective opponents over the weekend. They left the field Friday and Saturday afternoon, still not quite sure who they'd be playing this week in the new state football playoff system that now includes the "district system" used in other sports, with seeding thanks to a point differential that made every score count. Saturday evening, that schedule was released. Here's how it all will start shaking out: Thursday Friday You can search the entire playoff bracket by going to the Missouri State High School Activities Association website. If you had to pick one Creve Coeur game to have Patch cover Friday, which one would it be? Your passion could help tilt the scales on our decision!

Parkway North's daring playbook and valiant defense not enough to defeat the Statesmen behind a career night by Marlon Peal.
Webster Groves used a career night from running back Marlon Peal Friday, as the Statesmen went on the road to defeat Parkway North 28-14 in the last game of the regular season. Peal, a senior, had touchdown runs of 20, 68 and 78 yards en route to a 24 carry-336 yard night. And yet, with all that, the game itself was still largely in doubt until the last 2 minutes. Check out our Facebook Photo Gallery From The Game North's opening drive included a successful fake punt and a 4th down coversion at the Webster Groves 30 yard line but the Vikings could not turn that into points against the 5th ranked team in Class 5. When a pooch punt turned into a touchback, Peal flipped the field with a 64 yard scamper that led to Bri'on Sanders' 24 yard …

The Cadets played like the number one team in the state with a decisive win on the road against the Spartans.
CBC used a powerful display in all three phases of the game at De Smet to capture the school's third consecutive Metro Catholic Conference crown, with a 49-12 win Friday night in Creve Coeur. "They know what they want, they're pretty hungry this year," Cadets Head Coach Scott Pingel said. The hungriest player on the field may have been CBC Running Back Jonathan Parker, who rushed 15 times for 118 yards and accounted for 4 touchdowns on the evening. Parker, who gave a verbal pledge to play college football at Tulsa last month, dropped a wide open pass on a halfback option in the first quarter, but darted around Spartan defenders on the very next play for a 35 yard touchdown. After the teams traded punts, a De Smet drive deep into CBC …

The Colts remain undefeated heading into next weekend's matchup with University City.
In a matchup that carried plenty of upset potential for Parkway Central after last week's win over Webster Groves, the Colts continued a season-long theme focused on using the team's multi-faceted rushing attack and a stingy defense to go on the road and shut out Parkway North 23-0 Friday. "We had a very emotional win last week and I just worried about our intensity and our fire and I challenged our kids and I feel like they lived up to the challenge," Central Head Coach Mark Goldenberg said. Check out our Facebook Photo Gallery From The Game After the the teams traded punts for most of the first quarter, a Parkway Central 82 yard drive exclusively on the ground except for a pass play from Zach Lazenby to Jake Bushman ended with a Lazenby …
