You eat the food. You should tell us about your experience.
When it comes to restaurants, Creve Coeur, Frontenac, Ladue and Olivette have it covered. We have some great local places that many would consider community gems. We have some restaurants that aren't exactly mom-and-pop, but are unique to the area, and we certainly—for better or for worse—have plenty of chains lining our main streets. But what we don't have is a consistent food critic to tell us what's good and what's not. That's where you come in. We could throw some money at a professional food critic, but that's not exactly what Patch is all about. We'd much rather know the opinion of the fine folks that eat there day-in and day-out. It's your community. You eat the food. You tell us if it passes the mark. Each week in Friday Food …

Dunard Morris, a former business manager of Metropolitan Urological Specialists, had pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges and was sentenced Friday. The practice has locations throughout the St. Louis area, including Creve Coeur.
A former executive for Metropolitan Urological Specialists received a 78-month prison sentence Friday after admitting to embezzling millions of dollars from the company. Dunard Morris was sentenced on three felony counts of mail and wire fraud after pleading guilty to the charges in September. He was also ordered to pay $5.6 million in restitution. Federal Prosecutors said Morris repeatedly increased his own base salary from MUS, without authorization or disclosure to shareholders, and granted himself hundreds of thousands of dollars in unauthorized, undisclosed bonuses and reimbursements. Metropolitan Urological Specialists has an office on the campus of Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. The indictment points to a high-flying …

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch speculates the Bommarito family may have an interest in the site.
One day after St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Deb Peterson speculated on the possibility that the Bommarito family may find a way to locate a Tony's restaurant on the site of the former Busch's Grove, Patch has confirmed that the owners of Il Bel Lago in Creve Coeur are no longer considering opening a restaurant at the Ladue location. "We're out," Frank Gabrielle said by phone Tuesday afternoon. In July, Patch reported that Gabrielles and another business partner, were going to open a restaurant in November. Gabrielle said the concept "fell out of the sky" to them, but ultimately they could not come up with a way to make the economics of it all work without subdividing the property. The initial plans had called for subdividing the 13,000…

Opening for the new retail and restaurant space set for November.
After shutting its doors as a failed grocery market earlier this year, the iconic Busch’s Grove will reopen as a restaurant and retail venue in early November. Frank Gabriele, owner of Il Bel Lago in Creve Coeur, his brother Carmelo and an unnamed partner are the new owners of this landmark property. “We’re going to serve the finest ingredients, but we’re not going to be a place where people have to worry if they can afford it,” Frank said. “We’re going to give people a comfortable place to relax with outstanding food, a place where families can come in and have a comfortable dinner or people can come on a date.” While the exterior of the renowned façade will remain the same, the entrance will be moved back, and the 13,000-square-foot site…
