A developer has asked to speak at a meeting of residents from the Orchard Lakes subdivision Wednesday night.
Residents of a subdivision sitting on prime territory between Creve Coeur and Maryland Heights in St. Louis County could begin to get some more details Wednesday from the latest developer proposing to buy them out in favor of a retail project. As Patch reported last week, The Devereux Company has sent letters to residents in the Orchard Lakes subdivision indicating an interest in making "generous offers" worth more than the value of homes in the hope of building a "multi-anchor-based retail shopping plaza." Dan Devereux asked subdivision representatives for a chance to address an annual meeting of the residents set for Wednesday night in Maryland Heights. Devereux representatives have not returned multiple phone calls seeking comment on …

Two drivers in the crash heading southbound on Interstate 270 north of Creve Coeur were taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with minor injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released information related to a multi-car crash that tied up southbound traffic on Interstate 270 just north of Creve Coeur Tuesday. What was initially reported as an 8-car crash was apparently a 4-car crash in the eyes of the Highway Patrol. According to authorities, at 7:53 a.m., Michael Allen, 15, of Fenton, was driving southbound in a Toyota Camry and struck the rear of a KIA Optimdriven by Tinika Chaney-Daniels, 38, of St. Louis. Stacey Scathered, 45, of Crestwood, struck Allen's car from behind in a Chevy Suburban. Her vehicle was struck by a Ford Edge driven by John King, 42, of St. Louis. Scathered and King were both taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis with what were termed "minor" injuries.

The senior living center's proposal was continued from the panel's November 5 meeting.
Delmar Gardens' plans for 28 acres of land on Ladue Road near Interstate 270 in Creve Coeur will be back before the city of Creve Coeur's Planning and Zoning Commission Monday night. The proposal, which calls for assisted and independent living facilities, along with single-family homes on the site just west of the Interstate, has been criticized by neighbors who say the project doesn't fit the character of the Ladue Road corridor or the city's comprehensive plan. Discussion on the project, which began at a public hearing last month, was held over November 5 because the city's traffic study and an analysis from the Creve Coeur Fire Protection District were not complete at that time. Both are now complete and discussed in the agenda packet…

Alternate routes could mean backups for commuters into Creve Coeur.
Monday, October 29, 2012
Many residents in the area of the proposed Ladue Road project remain opposed to the idea of a senior living/residential project near Interstate 270.
It may have been two weeks since the last Creve Coeur Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, but residents expecting a meeting of the panel tonight, anxious for a decision on the Delmar Gardens proposal for Ladue Road will find empty chambers at the Creve Coeur Government Center Monday. October has 5 Mondays in it, so the next scheduled meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission is set for November 5. At that meeting, city officials expect to have the city's analysis of traffic connected to the Delmar Gardens proposal, which would include skilled, independent and assisted living facilities on 28 acres, along with 10 single-family homes. The developer's traffic study claimed the proposal would generate less traffic than the original …

THF Realty is reportedly interested in unincorporated county property adjacent to Creve Coeur.
Editor's Note: A previous version of this story was mistakenly accompanied by pictures of Orchard Lakes View. Patch regrets the error. Longtime residents in the Orchard Lakes area are used to hearing from developers who want to kick the tires to see if the property would be available for commercial projects. Those inquiries were not entirely welcomed in past years. The answer now could be...maybe. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch first reported Saturday that THF Realty met early last month with trustees of the subdivision, situated along the east side of Interstate 270 just north of the Olive Boulevard exit in Creve Coeur. The property in question sits in unincorporated St. Louis County. The newspaper reported that a letter sent by subdivision …

Creve Coeur part of the route taken in first year of what could become an annual tradition.
If you happened to be out and about Monday and saw a parade of military trucks, motorcycles and cars, it was a Freedom Run held to pay tribute to veterans, current military and their families. The parade-like run began in Fenton and circled St. Louis on area highways until it returned to High Ridge. It passed through Creve Coeur on Interstate 270. The event was sponsored by Faces of Freedom Fighters, a charitable foundation dedicated to building the state's first national monument to honor Missouri's fallen heroes. The group plans on making the run an annual event.
