Brad Beal Participates In Nike Hoops Summit, Gets Ready For North Carolina Next

Trip to Portland now past, Chaminade standout will be showcased in Charlotte later this week.

What a week for Chaminade basketball star Brad Beal. Last Monday, the All-American guard was named Gatorade's Boys Basketball National Player of the Year, complete with a round of H-O-R-S-E with former Georgetown and NBA star Alonzo Mourning after the award ceremony. We've attached an extended clip of the remarks Beal made at a ceremony marking the Gatorade honor. He spent the tail end of the week in Portland, Oregon, as a starting member of the U.S. squad competing in the Nike Hoops Summit. Late Rally Gives Undefeated Chaminade District Title

In a tight district final, Chaminade uses 40 points from senior guard Bradley Beal to defeat Webster, 80-76.

MRH Puts Scare Into Top-Ranked Chaminade in Heated Battle

With a stonewall defense that held Maplewood Richmond Heights scoreless for almost nine minutes stretching through the second and third periods, top-ranked Chaminade was able to overcome a 30-17 first-half deficit to roll past the Blue Devils, 70-50, on Saturday night. Halfway through the third period, some players started getting into arguments, and MRH coach Corey Frazier ran on the court, and was ejected. “Frazier ran out there,” MRH assistant coach John Redden said, “and the referee had been on us the whole game. He didn't say anything bad, he was just trying to calm everybody down, but it was just a bad call on us.” “Corey Frazier’s team always plays hard,” Chaminade coach Kelvin Lee said. “We got a little ugly there for a while, but …
