Biden-Ryan Vice Presidential Debate: Who Won?

More than 100 people shook off the Cardinals' Game 4 loss to visit a Wehrenberg Theatre in Des Peres or St. Charles to watch the vice presidential debate. Did they agree with you on the winner?

Nearly 120 people came out on a rainy evening to watch Vice President Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan face off in their one-and-only debate of the election season. Most of them thought Biden, the No. 2 on the Democratic ticket, took one on the chin from Ryan, who is running with Mitt Romney in an effort to unseat President Barack Obama. Analysts and pundits widely believed Obama lost the first presidential debate last week, and a dip for the incumbent in the polls seemed to bear out those views. It remains to be seen what the polls will say now that debate No. 2—between the No. 2s on the ticket—will have the same effect. Who do you think won the Biden-Ryan debate? Vote in our poll below. But visitors to debate viewing parties Thursday night …

Patch Red Arch/Blue Arch Experts Preview The VP Debate; Come Watch With Us

Joe Biden and Paul Ryan will meet Thursday night in Kentucky for their lone Vice Presidential debate. Once again, Patch and FOX2 are teaming up with Wehrenberg Theatres for a pair of watch parties.

Should viewers expect to see Vice President Joe Biden go on offense Thursday night in his debate with Republican Paul Ryan as a way to shore up President Obama's debate performance last week? Should Ryan de-emphasize his conservative views as a way of shoring up the support of swing voters? These were among some of the ideas raised by participants in the latest Red Arch/Blue Arch survey, a non-scientific look at issues and events surrounding the 2012 campaign cycle. Responses came from 23 Republicans and 17 Democrats. When asked which candidate would win the debate, 96 percent of Republicans said Ryan would win by a slim or a wide margin. Four percent were neutral. When asked the same question 70.6 percent of Democrats predicted a Biden …

Post-Conventional Wisdom: Missouri GOP Activists Say They Have Momentum

Now that the conventions in Tampa and Charlotte are over, Patch takes the pulse of our insiders about what worked and what didn't now that we're inside two months before election day.

According to a non-scientific Patch survey of GOP activists in Missouri, 75 percent of respondents said the Republican convention provided the party with the momentum it needs to get the base to turn out for what is expected to be a close election. That's one of the findings in the most recent Patch Red Arch survey project, conducted September 10-12. Approximately 60 people were surveyed, and 28 people responded. Tomorrow: Results from the Blue Arch Survey When asked how they felt about Mitt Romney's chances of winning in November after having both conventions completed, 42.9 percent said their opinion hadn't changed since the conventions, another 42.9 percent said they were more confident than they were before the conventions and 14.3 …

The group stopped by the West St. Louis County offices of Ann Wagner and Todd Akin Thursday to "advocate for a fair budget" and speak out against Paul Ryan's proposed budget.

A bus tour with a focus on Catholic social justice is making its way through the St. Louis area today.  According to the Southeast Missourian, the "Nuns on the Bus" is part of a tour lanched by Missouri nuns to highlight how federal budget cuts harm struggling families. Thursday's stops at the campaign office of U.S. Congressional Candidate Ann Wagner and the Congressional office of U.S. Senate Candidate Rep. Todd Akin's offices are part of a Missouri bus trip by the Catholic sisters highlighting the work the sisters do to meet the needs of people at the economic margins.
