Despite ATM Concerns, Creve Coeur P&Z OK's Credit Union Project

First Community plan will now go before city council.

First Community Credit Union Monday gained approval from the city of Creve Coeur Planning and Zoning Commission for landscape changes and an ATM, after meeting with neighbors in the area to address concerns about trees buffering a nearby residential area from the property. The credit union agreed to locate trees in different areas to counter neighborhood concerns. Commissioners were concerned about the proposed ATM relocation and redesign, which a bank representative said was due in part to compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act. Creve Coeur Planning and Zoning Officials Talk Fiat, First Community Credit Union

The third time was the charm for the Lou Fusz Automotive Group, seeking approval of site plans for changes at its Creve Coeur facility as the dealership adds the Fiat brand to its stable. Planning and Zoning Commission members had approved plans at the board's May 2 meeting after asking officials to make alterations to its proposal earlier this spring after concerns about corporate architecture, especially in a prominent location like the Fusz property, at Lindbergh and Olive. One member of the public who spoke at the hearing wanted assurances that the site would not turn into a full-fledged Car Wash along the lines of the existing locations, citing possible traffic concerns. The proposal, which requires city approval for a conditional use permit, only allows for indoor car washes on the current site. …

Race To Be Creve Coeur's Next Mayor Is Already Heating Up

Voters won't decide the race until April 2012.

Voters head to the polls in less than a month to decide city council elections, but a race that won't be decided for more than a year is already heating up. Barry Glantz, a former city councilman and currently a member of the city's planning and zoning commission, sent letters to Creve Coeur residents this week announcing his intent to run for mayor next April. Laura Bryant, term-limited from running to retain her Ward 4 council seat, has been telling supporters for a while that she planned to be in the race. Creve Coeur Mayor Harold Dielmann is also bound by term limits and cannot seek re-election. Creve Coeur Patch conducted interviews Friday with each of the prospective candidates. Find out what they had to say Monday on Creve Coeur …
